At The Tutor Hub Independent School, we aim to serve families seeking an alternative to mainstream education, one that is more nurturing and individualised.

We follow the CAPS curriculum in a milestone-based way, ensuring that every learner progresses according to South African educational standards. While CAPS forms the foundation of our teaching, we thoughtfully supplement it with additional high-quality materials that enrich learning and strengthen understanding.

We firmly believe in developing strong core skills in language and mathematics, laying solid foundations for future learning. Learners are assessed each term according to WCED requirements and receive comprehensive progress reports. Our approach includes both continuous informal assessment and structured formal assessment tasks, always prioritising an anxiety-free testing environment so that learners can demonstrate their true abilities with confidence.
Our class groups are intentionally small. This allows educators to provide meaningful one-on-one support, challenge learners to think critically, and guide them towards independence and self-confidence. Small classes also ensure that we can quickly identify learning barriers and offer early intervention when needed. With dedicated learning support teachers on staff, assistance can take place during the school day for those who require it.

To enrich and support learning, parents purchase a carefully selected PNA Book Box, chosen by our teaching team to complement the CAPS curriculum. Throughout the year, learners receive assessments, worksheets, and additional learning materials designed to strengthen key concepts.

We believe in purposeful, manageable homework. Children should not feel overwhelmed at home, but certain skills, such as daily reading and preparing for assessments, benefit from consistent practice. For this reason, we value strong partnership and communication with our parents.
